Laura Toropainen is a doctoral researcher in the Faculty of Education and Culture at Tampere University, Finland. Her main area of interest is environmental education, radical ecopsychology, spiritual ecology and the themes of deep ecology within the areas of human-nature connection, posthumanism and multispecies studies.
In her PhD research, Toropainen explores self-cultivation of the so called deep ecological self and its role in pro-environmental hope and behavior. The research is carried out as an action research in natural environment.
